What happened in Oconto Falls
This Oconto Falls home had water damage in a ceiling in January 2023. The photos show the ceiling opened up to the joists across the room, plastic sheeting laid down to protect the floor, and air movers set up on the floor under the open framing.
Removing the wet ceiling material let the joists and the cavity above dry out instead of holding moisture against the wood. The crew worked around the room's wood doors and trim, keeping the rest of the space protected while the drying ran. Later photos show the open ceiling from different angles with the equipment in place.
Ceiling leaks are easy to underestimate because the water spreads along the top of the drywall before it shows. Opening the ceiling where it's wet, and checking past the visible stain, is the way to catch all of it.
