What happened in Green Bay
This Green Bay home had water come through the ceiling in February 2023, over the kitchen and dining area. Winter leaks like this are often caused by ice building up along the roof edge and backing water under the shingles, and the photos from this job show ice along the eaves.
Inside, the crew opened the ceiling to expose the joists and the wet insulation, wiring and wood above. Removing the soaked drywall and insulation let the framing dry and showed exactly where the water had traveled. The basement below was checked too, and a dehumidifier was set up there.
The rooms stayed usable during drying, with the kitchen cabinets and counters protected. After the ceiling cavity was confirmed dry, the space was ready for new insulation and drywall.
