What happened in Oconto Falls

This Oconto Falls home had a pipe leak above the living room in September 2022. The photos follow the job from the first moisture readings to the drying setup.

The crew started with meter readings on the ceiling and the carpet to find the edges of the wet area. Part of the ceiling was opened to expose the joists and the drain pipe that leaked. The carpet was pulled back to dry the pad and subfloor, and air movers and a dehumidifier went to work in the room.

Opening only what's wet, and drying the rest in place, keeps the repair small. In this case the carpet could be lifted and dried rather than replaced, and the ceiling opening was limited to the area around the pipe.
