What happened in Suamico
This Suamico basement took on water in January 2023. The finished space included a wet bar, a workout area and storage, and the water spread under all of it.
The photos show the lower drywall cut away along the walls, the carpet and flooring pulled up to the concrete, and air movers set along the bar cabinets and walls. The base of the bar cabinets was checked and dried, and removed materials were stacked for disposal. Moisture readings at the end show the walls and floor drying back to normal.
Finished basements with built-in cabinets take extra care because water gets under the cabinets where it can't be seen. The crew checks those spots with a meter instead of assuming the visible floor tells the whole story.
