The water spread across much of the main floor. The flooring had been pulled up in the hallways, the kitchen and the rooms off them, leaving the subfloor bare with patches of old adhesive and residue. In a few spots the wood-look plank flooring was still down at the edges where it met the bare floor. Along one hallway the bottom of the drywall had been cut out to let the wall cavities dry.

The kitchen floor was stripped around the cabinets and stainless appliances, and the laundry closet with the stacked washer and dryer and the water heater was photographed with the floor opened up in front of it. These photos set the starting point for the build-back, which puts new flooring and drywall in the same areas.
