What happened in Appleton
CCS answered this water emergency in Appleton on December 30, 2024, and documented it with 177 photos through the end of January 2025.
The water was in a basement with a finished family room, a room with a wood table, and an unfinished storage and utility area. By January 3 the carpet had been pulled out of the finished rooms, leaving the slab bare, and the lower drywall was cut out in a line around the walls. The crew took moisture readings on the drywall above the cut and on the pink foam insulation behind it, working along each wall and around the door casings.
On January 23 a few drop ceiling tiles were out so the crew could check the joist space above, and the last photo from January 31 shows the finished ceiling back in place. Cutting the drywall a set height above the floor is a standard way to remove the wet part of a wall and let the rest dry.
