What happened in Appleton
This Appleton attic was checked and treated for mold in November 2022. The homeowner had used CCS before and called again when they suspected a problem.
The photos show the attic framing: rafters and trusses over blown-in insulation, and the underside of the roof boards. The crew worked through the attic with lights, checking the sheathing near the peak and along the slopes, then treated the affected wood with an antimicrobial.
Attics in the Fox Valley see a lot of temperature swings, and when warm air from the house reaches the cold roof boards, the moisture condenses and feeds mold. Air sealing at the ceiling and good roof ventilation keep the attic dry.
