What happened in Sturgeon Bay
CCS answered this water emergency near Sturgeon Bay on June 18, 2024, and took 25 photos over two days.
The home has a tall, steep vaulted ceiling finished in tongue-and-groove wood, with a ceiling fan near the peak, a brick chimney wall and a loft. Plastic sheeting was laid over the floor and the furniture below, and a tall extension ladder was set up so the crew could reach the upper part of the ceiling and the joints near the peak.
The crew also walked the outside of the house, checking the roofline, the siding, the eaves and the decks to look for where water could be getting in. When water shows up on a high wood ceiling, the source is usually above it, at the roof, a skylight or the chimney flashing, so the outside is checked as carefully as the inside.
Work performed
- Water emergency response
- Floor and furniture protected with plastic
