What happened in Red Smith
CCS answered this water emergency in the Red Smith area of Green Bay on November 7, 2024, and documented it with 111 photos. The photos here are from November 11.
The water spread through a finished basement with a family room, bedrooms and an unfinished utility side. In the utility area the crew photographed the floor drain and the framing along the foundation, with a dehumidifier running and moisture readings at the base of the walls.
In the finished rooms the carpet had been taken out down to the concrete, and the bottom of the drywall had been cut out in a band around each room, exposing the bottom plates. Furniture was pulled into the middle of the rooms to keep the walls open. Removing the carpet and the lower drywall early lets the slab and the wall cavities dry before mold has a chance to start.
