What happened in Colburn
CCS answered this basement water emergency in the Colburn area of Green Bay on May 28, 2024, and documented it with 169 photos. The set here is from June 27.
The basement has an unfinished side with painted block walls, the furnace and water heater, and a finished side with paneled and painted walls, a drop ceiling and a stairway. The flooring was up on the finished side, leaving the concrete bare, and the lower walls had been cut away in a band around each room, exposing the studs and plates.
A row of large yellow drying fans stood along one wall, with more drying equipment and stands placed through the rooms and the hall to the stairs. Stored items were gathered in the middle of the floor. Large fans like these move a lot of air across a bare slab and open wall bases, which is what gets a finished basement dry enough to rebuild.
