What happened in Brussels
CCS answered this water emergency near Brussels in Door County on May 1, 2024, and documented it with 126 photos. The set here is from May 6.
The basement had been finished with framed walls and drywall in front of the foundation. By May 6 most of the drywall was gone, leaving the wood studs and plates standing on the concrete, with the foundation wall visible behind them. Air movers and a dehumidifier were running, and a moisture meter was set on the slab along the bottom plates and under the stairs.
A crew member then treated the framing, the plates and the slab with a pump sprayer and wand, working down both sides of the stairway and along each wall. The last photos look down the open basement from end to end, past the utility area and the stairs. Opening the walls fully lets the foundation and framing dry before anything is rebuilt.
Work performed
