What happened in Appleton

This Appleton basement was a water emergency opened on April 5, 2026. The crew documented it with 180 photos, and the ones here are from April 10.

The finished basement has a bar area with built-in shelving, a family room, a bathroom and a stairway. The carpet in the main rooms had been pulled up to the concrete, and the stained wood baseboards were taken off and laid aside. One photo shows a section of wood flooring near the built-ins with water marks across the boards, and one cabinet base was pulled away from the wall to reach the floor and wall behind it.

The bathroom tile and the stairway were checked during the same walkthrough.

  • Water emergency response
  • Carpet removed down to the concrete
  • Wood baseboards taken off
  • Cabinet base pulled to reach the wall behind it

β€œMy husband and I noticed mold on a couple of different spots on a baseboard and outlet plugs that were below some windows. We remembered having a great experience from a few years back with Mike Wotruba at CCS about an issue we had going on in our basement, so we gave him a call right away.”

Water damage questions, answered

Does CCS Property Services do water damage in Appleton?

Yes. This project was in Appleton, WI 54915, and our crews work throughout Appleton and the surrounding area. Our Green Bay office is about 21 miles away. This is one of 13 water damage projects we've published from Appleton. Phones are answered 24/7 for emergencies.

What should I do in the first hour after a water leak?

Shut off the water at the main valve if you can, and turn off power to any wet area if it's safe to reach the panel. Move valuables and furniture off wet floors, take photos for insurance, and call a restoration company. Don't use a household vacuum on standing water.

How fast can CCS get to my home?

Phones are answered 24/7. In most cases we can have a crew on site within about an hour of your call for active water emergencies in the Green Bay area.

Does homeowners insurance cover water damage in Wisconsin?

Most policies cover sudden and accidental water damage, like a burst pipe or an appliance failure. Damage from long-term leaks or neglect usually isn't covered, and flooding from surface water typically needs separate flood coverage. Sump pump backup is often an add-on endorsement. We document the loss and work directly with your adjuster.

How long does it take to dry out a flooded basement?

Most structures dry in three to five days with professional equipment, depending on how much water there was, what materials got wet and the weather. We check moisture readings daily and only pull equipment when readings confirm it's dry.

Will I get mold after water damage?

Mold can start growing within 24 to 48 hours on wet drywall, wood and carpet. Fast extraction and drying is what prevents it, which is why we treat water damage as an emergency.

Do you handle the repairs too?

Yes. We dry out the structure and then rebuild what was removed, so you deal with one company from the first call to the finished room.
