What happened in Winneconne
CCS opened this attic mold job in Winneconne on November 20, 2025, and took 9 photos on November 26.
The attic has an OSB roof deck over wood rafters and a thick layer of blown-in insulation on the floor. The photos look up each rafter bay from the eaves toward the peak. The OSB shows dark staining across many of the bays, heaviest low on the roof near the insulation and around a vent pipe that comes up through the attic floor.
Staining across the underside of a roof deck usually comes from moisture in the attic rather than a single roof leak. Warm, damp air from the house rises into the attic in winter, meets the cold roof boards and condenses. Blocked soffit vents, leaky ceiling penetrations and bath fans that end in the attic all make it worse, so they are part of what gets checked on an attic mold job.
