What happened in Astor East
CCS inspected this basement in the Astor East area of Green Bay as a free mold assessment. The project was opened on September 4, 2025, and the photos here are from September 22. The owner received a written estimate for remediation.
The basement has block walls painted white with a wide red stripe, an open wood ceiling with ductwork, steel support posts and a concrete floor. The lower part of the walls was stained gray and dark below the paint, with the paint worn and flaking in places, and the floor was stained across much of the room.
A built-in wood cabinet and a door along one wall, and stored items leaning against another, were checked for growth on the wood and on the back side. Wood built-ins and stored cardboard in a damp basement often show mold before the block does, so the assessment looks behind and under them.
