What happened in Sister Bay
CCS took on this mold remediation job near Sister Bay in April 2025 and documented it with 72 photos. The photos here are from May 21 and May 27.
The problem was on the outside of the house, on the natural wood lap siding. Close-ups from May 21 show the boards weathered gray with dark spotting, worst on the lower courses just above the gravel and the black trim band at the base of the wall.
By May 27 the crew had worked along the bottom of the wall, including the section behind the air conditioning unit. Patches of the lowest boards had been sanded back to clean, bright wood, and the photos compare those spots with the untreated boards beside them. Unfinished siding close to the ground stays damp after rain and snow melt, which is why growth like this tends to start at the bottom of the wall.
