What happened in New London

CCS handled this basement mold remediation job in New London. The project was opened on August 15, 2024, and has 73 photos, all from that day.

The basement has a long room finished in pine paneling with a vinyl tile floor, and a bathroom with green painted walls. Blue air movers were set along the paneled walls. In the bathroom and the next room, the lower drywall had been cut away, exposing the studs, the bottom plates and the insulation in the outside walls.

A crew member took moisture readings on the bottom plates, at the base of the paneling, along the cut edges of the drywall and on the floor, with the meter showing low numbers in several spots. Readings like these tell the crew whether the framing is dry enough to treat and close up, or needs more time with the equipment running.

Work performed

  • Mold remediation
  • Lower drywall cut away in the bathroom
  • Air movers along the paneled walls
  • Moisture readings on plates, paneling and drywall

β€œMy husband and I noticed mold on a couple of different spots on a baseboard and outlet plugs that were below some windows. We remembered having a great experience from a few years back with Mike Wotruba at CCS about an issue we had going on in our basement, so we gave him a call right away.”

β€œWe recently had our roof done and I wanted a second pair of eyes to ensure no mold was present due to having leaks for some time. Mike Wotruba showed up thankfully after roofing rescheduled twice and he was so accommodating. Super helpful with questions and went above and beyond for me.”

β€œI had, what I consider, to be a decent mold problem in my basement. I was unsure of who I should call, so I decided to read the reviews posted by other people that used CCS Property Services to see if they would be a good fit.”

β€œCCS Property Services has been hands down the best company we’ve ever worked with in relation to our house, and certainly the most important. We called when we had a pipe leak in our home, noticing that we had a soggy wall.”

β€œWe had a great experience with Jamie and his crew. They were always professional and flexible. After purchasing a home that needed mold intervention, Jamie came by to inspect at not cost. We provided our concerns and he gave us some feedback.”

β€œCCS was amazing to work with. Our dishwasher broke and leaked into the ceiling and walls of our newly remodeled basement. We got fans on it right away to dry out as best we could. We wanted to know if there was any mold or permanent water damage.”

Mold remediation questions, answered

Does CCS Property Services do mold remediation in New London?

Yes. This project was in New London, WI 54961, and our crews work throughout New London and the surrounding area. Our Green Bay office is about 33 miles away. Assessments are free.

How fast can someone come out to New London?

We schedule assessments as quickly as we can, with priority for active leaks and deadlines like a home sale closing. Request a call back above or call (920) 435-2288.

Is the mold assessment free?

Yes. We inspect the area, look for the moisture source and explain what we find. You only pay if you choose to move forward with remediation.

What's the difference between mold removal and mold remediation?

Removal means cleaning off visible mold. Remediation is the full process: containment, removing damaged materials, cleaning, treating and fixing the moisture that caused it. Removal alone often leads to the mold coming back.

How much does mold remediation cost?

It depends on the size of the area, what's growing on (drywall, wood framing, insulation) and access. A small bathroom or window area costs far less than a full basement or attic. You get a written price after the free assessment.

Does insurance cover mold remediation?

Often it does when the mold comes from a sudden covered event, like a burst pipe or appliance leak. Mold from long-term humidity or slow leaks usually isn't covered. We'll tell you which it looks like and work with your adjuster if you file a claim.

Can I stay in my home during mold remediation?

Usually, yes. We seal off the work area and run HEPA filtration so spores don't spread. If a space needs to be off-limits, we'll tell you before we start.

Will the mold come back?

Not if the moisture is fixed. Every job starts by finding the source, whether it's a leak, poor ventilation or high humidity, and that fix is part of the plan.

Is black mold dangerous?

Any mold growing indoors should be taken seriously, especially for people with allergies, asthma or weakened immune systems. The color doesn't tell you how harmful it is. Large areas (more than about 10 square feet) should be handled by professionals, per EPA guidance.
