What happened in Howard
CCS opened this mold remediation job in Howard on August 1, 2025, and took 16 photos on August 13.
The work was in a finished basement. The lower part of the drywall had been cut out along several walls, exposing the wood studs and the bottom plates sitting on the concrete floor. The plates and the base of the studs were dark with mold and staining, and the concrete foundation wall was visible behind the framing. A crew member used a pointer to show the worst spots along the plates.
The photos also include the corner with the water heater, where the wall had been opened the same way. Basement bottom plates sit directly on concrete, which can stay damp, so they are often the first wood in a finished basement to grow mold. Cutting the drywall low lets the crew reach the plates without tearing out the whole wall.
