What happened in Green Bay
This Green Bay job, from June 2023, dealt with mold on the back side of wall sheathing in an unfinished part of the house. The photos show the OSB panels between the studs covered in dark spotting, along with the framing, ductwork and wiring that run through the same space.
The crew worked bay by bay, cleaning and treating the sheathing and the studs. Photos of the lower plates and the duct runs show the areas that needed the most attention, where moisture had collected and air didn't move much.
OSB takes on moisture easily, and once it does, mold spreads across it fast. Treating it while the panels are still solid avoids replacing the wall. The plan also looked at where the moisture was coming from, because cold exterior walls and condensation are a common cause in Wisconsin winters.
