What happened in Red Smith
CCS inspected this basement in Green Bay's Red Smith neighborhood on July 2, 2026, as a free mold assessment, and documented it with 22 photos. The owner received a written estimate for remediation.
The basement walls are framed and insulated, with clear plastic sheeting stapled over the studs instead of drywall, and the space is set up as a family room with furniture and shelving. Through the plastic, gray mold growth was visible on the insulation and framing in several places, including above the basement windows and along the lower wall. A thermo-hygrometer reading records the humidity during the visit.
Plastic over insulation on a basement wall can trap moisture against the framing, and the clear sheeting here made the growth easy to see.
