What happened in Hobart
CCS handled this attic mold job in Hobart. The project was opened on April 2, 2024, and has 56 photos from that day.
The attic is framed with wood trusses and metal gusset plates under a plywood roof deck, with loose white insulation on the floor. The plywood is spotted with dark patches across many bays, with heavier spotting near the peak and around the truss joints, and some of the truss webs are stained as well.
The crew also photographed the path through the house to the attic access: the carpeted stairway with its wood railing, the upstairs hallway, a closet and the wood-floored entry by the front door. Recording the condition of the living space along the route protects the home during the work. Spotting on attic plywood is usually caused by moist indoor air reaching the cold roof deck, so ventilation and air sealing at the ceiling are part of the fix.
