What happened in Green Bay
CCS handled this bathroom mold job in Green Bay. The project was opened on October 31, 2024, and the 15 photos are from November 5.
The toilet had been removed, and the vinyl tile floor around the flange was stained brown in a ring. When the crew cut into the floor, the vinyl and the thin underlayment beneath it peeled up in soft, stained pieces, and the plywood around the flange was dark and breaking apart. A hammer and pry bar were used to cut out a square of the damaged underlayment around the flange.
A crew member then treated the exposed subfloor and the flange area with a pump sprayer. The last photos show the square opening around the flange and the bathroom floor from the doorway. A toilet that leaks at the wax ring soaks the floor right at the flange, and the rot and mold stay hidden under the vinyl until the toilet comes up.
