What happened in Northeast Area
This Green Bay attic, in the city's northeast area, had the dark staining on the roof boards that shows up when warm, moist air gets trapped under the roof. The photos from September 2023 show it clearly: gray and black mold across the sheathing, with blown-in insulation covering the attic floor.
The crew treated the roof boards and rafters with an antimicrobial spray, working from the attic floor and reaching up into the slope of the roof. Several photos show the pump sprayer at work and the treated boards afterward.
The customer was referred to CCS. In most attics, this kind of growth comes from a bath fan venting into the attic or from not enough ventilation at the soffits and roof. Fixing that is part of the plan, because treated wood will grow mold again if the moisture keeps coming.
