What happened in Appleton
CCS opened this mold remediation job in Appleton on March 18, 2025, and documented it with 51 photos. The photos here are from a walkthrough on May 7.
The basement has concrete block walls and a concrete floor. The old floor covering had been taken up, and the adhesive pattern was still on the slab. A crew member used a long pointer to call out the problem spots in each photo: dark staining at the base of the walls, discolored corners, and wet-looking areas along the floor.
Several cracks and joints in the block had been filled with yellow expanding foam, running both up the walls and along the mortar lines. The photos also cover the utility corner with the drain pipes and the pit. Sealing cracks in block walls cuts down on the water that seeps in from outside, which is what keeps a basement damp enough to grow mold.
