What happened in Suamico

CCS inspected this basement in Suamico as a free mold assessment, with photos from May 1 and September 5, 2025, and 22 photos in all. The owner received a written estimate for remediation.

The basement is in a newer home, with insulated foundation walls, some new framed walls, an open ceiling and steel posts. On the first visit the crew photographed the OSB rim board and subfloor between the joists, which showed dark spotting, and a stud against the foundation.

On the second visit the photos cover the whole basement: the framed walls by the stairs, the long open side, belongings wrapped in plastic, and the joist bays and rim board up close with spotting on the OSB. A dehumidifier was running, and a thermo-hygrometer reading was taken of the basement air. In new construction, lumber that got wet before the house was closed in can grow mold once it is sealed in a cool, damp basement.

“My husband and I noticed mold on a couple of different spots on a baseboard and outlet plugs that were below some windows. We remembered having a great experience from a few years back with Mike Wotruba at CCS about an issue we had going on in our basement, so we gave him a call right away.”

“We recently had our roof done and I wanted a second pair of eyes to ensure no mold was present due to having leaks for some time. Mike Wotruba showed up thankfully after roofing rescheduled twice and he was so accommodating. Super helpful with questions and went above and beyond for me.”

“I had, what I consider, to be a decent mold problem in my basement. I was unsure of who I should call, so I decided to read the reviews posted by other people that used CCS Property Services to see if they would be a good fit.”

“CCS Property Services has been hands down the best company we’ve ever worked with in relation to our house, and certainly the most important. We called when we had a pipe leak in our home, noticing that we had a soggy wall.”

“We had a great experience with Jamie and his crew. They were always professional and flexible. After purchasing a home that needed mold intervention, Jamie came by to inspect at not cost. We provided our concerns and he gave us some feedback.”

“CCS was amazing to work with. Our dishwasher broke and leaked into the ceiling and walls of our newly remodeled basement. We got fans on it right away to dry out as best we could. We wanted to know if there was any mold or permanent water damage.”

Mold remediation questions, answered

Does CCS Property Services do mold remediation in Suamico?

Yes. This project was in Suamico, WI 54313, and our crews work throughout Suamico and the surrounding area. Our Green Bay office is about 10 miles away. This is one of 2 mold remediation projects we've published from Suamico. Assessments are free.

How fast can someone come out to Suamico?

We schedule assessments as quickly as we can, with priority for active leaks and deadlines like a home sale closing. Request a call back above or call (920) 435-2288.

Is the mold assessment free?

Yes. We inspect the area, look for the moisture source and explain what we find. You only pay if you choose to move forward with remediation.

What's the difference between mold removal and mold remediation?

Removal means cleaning off visible mold. Remediation is the full process: containment, removing damaged materials, cleaning, treating and fixing the moisture that caused it. Removal alone often leads to the mold coming back.

How much does mold remediation cost?

It depends on the size of the area, what's growing on (drywall, wood framing, insulation) and access. A small bathroom or window area costs far less than a full basement or attic. You get a written price after the free assessment.

Does insurance cover mold remediation?

Often it does when the mold comes from a sudden covered event, like a burst pipe or appliance leak. Mold from long-term humidity or slow leaks usually isn't covered. We'll tell you which it looks like and work with your adjuster if you file a claim.

Can I stay in my home during mold remediation?

Usually, yes. We seal off the work area and run HEPA filtration so spores don't spread. If a space needs to be off-limits, we'll tell you before we start.

Will the mold come back?

Not if the moisture is fixed. Every job starts by finding the source, whether it's a leak, poor ventilation or high humidity, and that fix is part of the plan.

Is black mold dangerous?

Any mold growing indoors should be taken seriously, especially for people with allergies, asthma or weakened immune systems. The color doesn't tell you how harmful it is. Large areas (more than about 10 square feet) should be handled by professionals, per EPA guidance.
