What happened in Appleton
CCS opened this commercial mold remediation and build-back job at a retail store in Appleton on August 6, 2025, and documented it with 61 photos through early September.
The problem was in the walls and soffits around the large front windows. On August 12 the crew sealed off the window area with plastic sheeting so the store could keep its racks of merchandise out of the work zone. On August 14 a photo inside the opened wall above a window shows the framing, the wiring and the metal window frame.
By August 27 the window bays were being rebuilt. Drop cloths covered the floor under the ladders, and the new drywall in the soffits and the wall returns beside the glass was finished smooth and painted. Window frames in commercial storefronts can leak at the top, and the water runs down inside the wall where no one sees it until mold shows up.
