What happened in Appleton
CCS inspected this home in Appleton on July 16, 2025, as a free mold assessment, and documented it with 4 photos. The owner received a written estimate for remediation.
The concern was in a storage closet. Low on the wall, a brass water valve with a green-crusted fitting comes out of the drywall, and the crew lit it with a flashlight to show the corrosion around the connection and the wall surface beside it. The floor below was covered with cardboard and stored items, and the photos show the pipe running along the base of the wall under them.
Green and white crust on a brass fitting is a sign of a slow leak that has been wetting and drying for a long time. With cardboard and stored things sitting right under it, any water that drips stays trapped against the floor and the wall, which is a setup for mold.
